BlogTalk 2009 accepted for publication in Springer LNCS

Thank you for your successful participation in the BlogTalk 2009 conference. We hope you enjoyed the event.

It is our pleasure to confirm that the BlogTalk Asia 2009 / 6th International Conference on Social Software has been accepted for post-proceedings publication in Springer's LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science).

We will be writing to all presenters shortly with details for submitting papers.

Talks accepted for the BlogTalk 2009 programme

We have just published a list of the accepted talks for the BlogTalk 2009 programme.

You can view these on our programme page.

Congratulations to those who were accepted, and thanks to all who submitted proposals.

Yeon-Ho Oh will give a keynote talk at BlogTalk 2009!

We are happy to announce that Mr. Oh, founder and CEO of OhMyNews, will give a keynote presentation at BlogTalk 2009!

The Hyatt Regency Jeju will be the venue for BlogTalk 2009

We are happy to announce that the Hyatt Regency Jeju, a five-star hotel on Jeju Island, will be the venue for BlogTalk 2009. More information is available from our venue page.

You can book on our accommodation page (rates from $120 including breakfast). There are also a variety of other accommodation options with higher and lower rates on the accommodation page.

Attend Lift Asia after BlogTalk

We have teamed up with the organisers of Lift Asia to synchronise the dates of our Asian events. So if you travel to Korea in September you will be able to attend two great conferences in four days. This should make your trip more productive and unforgettable!

We have also added combined tickets for both events on the registration page.

Isaac Mao will give a keynote talk on "Cloud intelligence"

We are pleased to announce that Chinese uber-blogger Isaac Mao will give a keynote talk on "Cloud intelligence" at BlogTalk 2009.

In this talk, Isaac will discuss how the world is changing to deal with and leverage the intelligence available in the cloud. I spoke to Isaac via Skype this morning and the talk sounds like it will be very interesting.

Isaac is a fellow with the renowned Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, and he is co-founder of CNBlog.org and the Social Brain Foundation.

What to expect

I was interviewed by Korea's David Lee, founder of video interview site wetoku, last week about BlogTalk 2009.

End of submissions phase

I am happy to announce that we exceeded our target number of proposal submissions following an extension to the deadline. These are currently being reviewed and we will announce accepted papers next week.

BlogTalk call for proposals, date extended until end of the month

Due to the economic downturn (which has affected the number of submissions to many conferences and workshops) and also following a number of requests for extensions, we have extended the deadline for the BlogTalk 2009 conference until the end of July 2009.
